The Seed Blog: God's Clear Purpose: Black Lives Matter

You have seen it and heard it over and over—in social media, on the news, at work, in conversations...You have seen and felt every reaction possible from both sides; from agreement, to distaste and anger, frustration and impatience, denial, hate, vengeance, hostility and chaos. You have been told to get behind it or you are racist; get behind it or feel guilty; repentant and make atonement for your sins. Our world is being torn apart around us as everyone screams for us to follow their plan, think as they think, do what is right according to their beliefs. And once again, the reaction you and I should have on this subject—as Christians—before we are black, white, red or brown; before we are Democrat or Republican—should be simple, unbending, unapologetic, undebated, and uninfluenced by anything around us. Our reactions should be the Light for others to follow—the Salt to stop the rot and decay; the example of the Untainted Love of Christ in a world gone mad. But once again, most of us simply reflect the world from which we are so influenced rather than walking in the Spirit of Truth.
What would God—and His Word—have us to do with the hate, racism, and violence around us? What would He have us to do with the movements and protests? Let's go back to a blank slate and start over once again. Ask yourself this single, all-important question in the end: "Was what I heard in line with God's Word?" If so, stop the debate, and align yourself with Him: Galatians 1:10.

First, let's quickly address the horrible notion that says this Country's past of slavery and inequality stems from the very pages of Scripture we are founded upon. It is not the Words of Scriptures which taught or approved such atrocities, but the twisting and warping of Scriptures to conform to the desires of men. Without going into a lengthy study—because we have spent weeks on the issue in the past—let’s just quickly look at these summarizing statements about slavery and inequality from God's Word. Slavery in the Scriptures: Exodus 21:16. Every sale and purchase of any slave in this country and others was done against the Scriptures of God. The backbone of the drive to abolish slavery stemmed from the hearts and works of Christian men following their God-inspired beliefs about slavery. Listen to this last letter that evangelist John Wesley ever wrote to a man named William Wilberforce encouraging Wilberforce in his work to abolish slavery. Wesley died six days later. William Wilberforce, a committed Christian—who also led causes that resulted in missionary work to India, Society for Bettering the Cause of the Poor, the Church Missionary Society, the British and Foreign Bible Society, the Antislavery Society, and the Society to Prevent Cruelty to Animals, among others—devoted his life, to the extent of ignoring other interests, and in failing health to the ending of slavery. He died just three days after hearing that the Act was to be passed through Parliament! Listen to his heart-felt passion against this injustice. Now, look at Racism in Scriptures: Romans 2:11, Galatians 3:26-28, Acts 17:26. In case you didn't notice in that last verse, it was God who decided that all of these nations and tribes made from one blood were a beautiful and perfect creation in his image. Never let anyone tell you the Word of God teaches it is OK to enslave, mistreat, or hold prejudice against any tribe or tongue on this earth.
Mark 16:15: When those European and American ships came to rest in the African ports of slave traders—what should their mission have been, as Christians, if they were truly following Christ? Love, healing, servitude and giving of the Gospel. And some would dare to blaspheme Christ by putting His Name with something as awful as these atrocities.
There are two massive, but different, issues we must face with the problem of racism in America and "the black lives matter movement today. Is there a major issue of inequality and racism in existence in this Nation today? Absolutely! Is there much work still to be done? You know there is. Is it OK to say, "Black Lives Matter", rather than, "All Lives Matter"? Before any of you quickly say, "No, because it is promoting the very inequality we should be erasing,” stop and understand this: promoting the truth that black lives matter is not about raising blacks above other lives—it is a plea to recognize what many seem to ignore or reject. Just as it is OK to say, "Unborn Lives Matter" in recognizing the equality of unborn children (not raising them above, but pleading to recognize). Just as it is OK to say, "Women's Lives Matter" (when we see the suppression and abuse of women around the world). Just like it is OK to say, "Christian Lives Matter" in our struggle against persecution, torture, rape, and annihilation around the world. Just like it would have been right and good to say, "Jewish Lives Matter" in the suppression and persecution of Jews in WWII. God's Word clearly states that Christians are to put themselves alongside suffering brothers and sisters and show empathy in sharing their struggles: Galatians 6:2-3, 1 Corinthians 12:26. Where have we been as this problem has persisted for years? But now, here is the frightening and revealing truth about the difference between the importance and equality of black lives and the responsibilities of Christians—black and white—to bring this equality to fruition in our culture, verses what it means to support the "Black Lives Matters" Organization. I don't say what I am about to say flippantly, or without ample study, evidence and reason—I realize the severity of these words. Black Lives Matter, the organization, is not simply about bringing equality to black people. It is a carefully planned organization using and manipulating the true facts and needs of the black culture and others as a segue into an agenda—a political movement—a revolution—which is anti-Christian, anti-American and ultimately hurtful to the black community—and all of us in the end. If you truly put black, white, red, brown aside to be Christian first, there is no room for support of this organization with your beliefs and convictions for Jesus Christ ever. On the contrary, if you will listen for the next few moments, you will see that to support this organization is to literally fight against Jesus Christ and to stand against to silence His Word forever. Black Lives Matter, is not ultimately interested in just the equality of blacks. This is why we have seen the movement take in every other politically charged argument of our time, under its umbrella—making a decision not to support the movement, such a politically charged act of hate, of racism, of bigotry that no one dares speak or stand against it. Giving an almost unhindered voice and funding to their agenda—which is hiding behind the causes it seems to champion. Black Lives Matter is a quietly, but openly a "Marxist Movement", using—just as it has in the past—any social, environmental or political issue of unrest it can grab in a free society—to attract the masses to its cause—offering as the solution to the problem—a complete and radical transformation of society and government as we know it, and the removal the dismantling of many strongly held convictions of any true Christian. When I first began hearing these claims—began to uncover the evidence—I was very skeptical and resistant, thinking it to be a paranoid slur by opposition. I did many hours of research on their websites into their own written agenda and objectives. The very Co-Founders of the movement themselves have been bold and forthright about their history, training and goals. In a 2015 interview by Morgan State university Professor Jared Ball, regarding this movement, co-founder Patrisse Cullers addressed a concern posed by Professor Ball that—in order for Black Lives Matter to resist diminishing from its position of influence, a "more clear ideological structure might be of some value", Culler’s response was this. ["We do have a vision; we do have long term plan: Marxism!"] In other interviews, Patrisse has expressed her introduction to Marxism and her support for it. If you visit the Black Lives Matter organizational website and read the very words of their own "What We Believe" statements. As a follower of Jesus Christ, and all He holds right, holy—you can’t, in your allegiance to Him—walk under or contribute to their vision.
Black Lives Matter currently consists of a network of 16 chapters in the U.S. and Canada—all of which are connected and funded by Black Lives Matter. Each chapter expresses their beliefs and demands in their respective areas of influence. One example of these beliefs and demands, from the D.C. Chapter, includes this: "These equations inform how we live as our highest selves while dismantling White Supremacy, Patriarchy, Capitalism, Imperialism and the role the state plays in supporting them." In their list of demands for equality, one of the things even demanded is the "Decriminalization of Sex Work!' Black Lives Matter is in direct coalition with the movement called M4BL, or "Movement For Black Lives". On their own website, included in their "Who We Are" statements is this.
Let's put this into perspective in the context of Loving Jesus Christ, because that is all that matters in any society, in any situation. What we are on the threshold of is so much more dangerous than most are aware of today. We are flirting with, and giving power to systems that promise to silence opposition to many causes today. Some of those promises are to silence and stop many of your Christian beliefs they don’t agree with. They vow to do this with structural and political changes—which in turn will ultimately be used to silence every voice and position that does not agree with those powers in the future—including your right as a Christian to love and follow the Words of your Savior. We are embracing and supporting (in words, deeds and resources) an organization which in its own mission statements has admitted to the objective of destroying God's Plan for the family, and morals with extreme malice—not willing to allow freedom to accept and love one another in our different views, but in forced compliance and acceptance of those beliefs punishing or persecuting any other view. Is there a problem with racism today? Yes, a serious one. Do changes need to occur? Most definitely. (And we will discuss those changes next week). But we—as people of any color, or ethnic group who claim Jesus Christ and His Love and His Words as our own—have no right to embrace anything that openly defies Him or goes against His Wisdom and purposes on this earth even if the gains were real and good: James 4:4-5, 2 Corinthians 6:14-15. I do not think a system which has murdered approximately 100 million people in the last century through execution and starvation, has imprisoned millions more, and has taken away the right to worship our God from countless millions; a system that has to use lies, deception and unforgiveness to even get in the door (checked the stats on claims?); a system that teaches division and hate rather than forgiveness and reconciliation is the place to put our trust for solving our problems. This Country has it's demons and horrible issues from the past—as does every society and people group on the planet—and it's time we right many of those wrong views and attitudes still holding fast today—but the system and the hearts of this country have taken blacks from slavery to President of the United States—twice. I think that shows the system is workable, even though we have a long way to go. I do not have to support a deceptive and God destroying organization with the label of Black Lives Matter to know and believe, with all my heart that black lives matter.
If we had been loving, serving and brazen in our faith in the teachings of our Savior all along, do you think it would ever have come to this? We still have much work to do, let's not trust another form of government—let's not trust our own government—let’s trust God and follow His ways with all our hearts; loving and putting others above selves, praying with fervent hearts, standing alone if necessary, for Christ first. Even when done wrongly, even when hated, and hold the line for our Savior. No matter what comes in our future, we still have much to say about God's Word on this subject. But in expressing the responsibility and righteousness of standing by brothers and sisters of any race, in their need, many of you may have run straight to this organization in good faith, without knowing the foundations. Just as many in black and white communities, who are rightly protesting and working for equality have no knowledge of all they support when they sign on with this movement. We first had to expose the background and intentions of this movement which has many people fooled and misguided before proceeding any further. And in case you didn't know, this perfect, and beautiful design of all races, tribes and tongues which god has created on earth will not change when we reach the other side of heaven: Revelation 7:9-10. This verse says all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues. Therefore, if you ever feel that even one race or tribe of people is beneath you—irritating, unworthy, less than—you have tried to take away from God's Eternal Kingdom. You have called unworthy, what the King of the universe died to make worthy and in God's Eyes; you have become the one unworthy to stand in His presence. Love all; stand in the gap for all—but don’t be blinded by Satan’s plots. Don’t put Satan’s agenda—no matter the social pressure—above serving your Savior.
