Youth Group - Bonsai

What is Bonsai?
Bonsai is Word of Light's youth group and is open to grades 6 through 12+.

What happens in the group?

• We learn about Jesus -- how awesome He is and how we can be like Him.
• Learning, teaching, and encouraging each other in our walk with with Christ and day to day life.
• Playing tons of games, improv, and making an occasional mess. Destroying useless things.
• Group outings such as Camping, Theme Parks, Ski Resorts, Concerts, Lock-ins, & Randomness

Fellowship-our youth have participated in events such as ski and roller coaster trips, the Milton Corn Maze, game and movie nights, and sleepovers all focused on meeting new friends and building relationships within the established group.

Missions-as a youth group we have collected food for the local Community Cupboard, books that were donated to children in a village in Uganda, Africa. At times we have pitched in to clean the church both inside and out, as well as volunteering in many community organizations. We believe that we are called to be God's hands and feet in the community and strive to help those in need.

Worship-we have a large library of music and videos that are used to both entertain and teach a lesson. It is our firm belief that music not only touches our lives, but is very pleasing to God as well.

Evangelism-many of our lessons focus on "why" and "how" we are supposed to pray, fast, and commune with Jesus Christ so that we may build a lasting relationship with our Lord and Savior.

Teaching-our group has touched on all types of topics that today's youth must deal with, in a fun and engaging way. The youth never know what may happen during any given lesson and have come to expect the unexpected.
