As we discuss our topic today, there will be three potential listeners: 1) worldly, non-believing people of which I do realize have no reason to listen to why I'm right and they are wrong, based only on a God in which they don't even believe exists. Listen open-mindedly, knowing everything I say will be in genuine concern and real love and I simply want you to see the logic behind God's Words even if you do not believe what, I know, is true. 2) Progressive-minded Christians who claim that a true God of love would agree with and encourage the many changes we are seeing under the label of unity, self-expression, and acceptance of differences in compassion and love. I would ask that you continue listening with an open mind and discover for yourself whether you have left the very central core of everything God's Salvation and Righteousness is based upon. 3) True, believing, fundamental Christians of whom I would ask that you open yourself to real change of mind in what your life is about; in how serious you are about God, and in whether you truly love God and others over self. Because, for you and I today living in the circumstances in which we currently find ourselves, recognizing the stage of history in which Scriptures reveal us to be living, this may by far be one of the most important lessons of your life. Major, rapid, unimaginable changes have occurred within our society and around the entire world, regarding the very basis of how we can live our everyday life in the culture around us. I hear the term, "woke" very often in labeling this phenomenon, but this term was around long before the current avalanche of changes, which have come to us in the past 8 or 9 years. It got its origin in the war against racism many years ago, but now has evolved into a blanket term for just about any interpreted social injustice, which can be ignited. The purpose of this discussion is to realize the power and the intentions behind the swell of change and give us a proper awakening to where we as Christians are living right now because we don’t seem to grasp it and it’s almost too late. We can no longer say that things will someday get very difficult for Christians—that day is here; now. And it will continue to get exponentially harder from this point forward, very rapidly. It has literally become threatening and even damaging—socially, legally, financially, spiritually and even physically—to be standing for the Name and Words of Jesus Christ. Just this week—as this lesson was being prepared—I’ve seen a local employee removed from their job by law enforcement; I've had a long-time Christian friend come to me with a young-adult child who wants to physically-trans, wanting to leave church and join a "Progressive Church"; I've had one good friend pushed to the life-change of removing their child from public schools altogether over the insanity that is being allowed to influence our youth. It's not just "out there somewhere" anymore; it's right here and it's not going away—it’s only going to increase.
The dangerous truth behind all of these cultural changes is rooted in the fact that society is not just being pushed to tolerate or give freedom to expression and differences, but in the fact that society is making it forbidden to disagree, speak freely, or even believe anything opposing—an ever-growing "world-view" of how things must be. In programs, actions, and legislation, we are being forced to embrace ideas and beliefs, which are often life-changing and detrimental and very often opposing our very belief in Christ. And if we are openly opposed to these new beliefs, we can be punished, excluded, silenced, and persecuted. There is a very clear and purposeful agenda to bring division and intolerance between races, genders, sexual preferences, faiths, and social classes to remove our belief and expression of God from every arena; to remove any trace of family structure and influence; to control the narrative and influence of all media and entertainment; to exert influence and control over our youth through the education system from kindergarten to college; to villainize and even criminalize Christian views; to corrupt the understanding and belief of God’s Word. Add to that—most murders in history over past 50years. Just a few examples of how this has reached very harmful and even persecuting level are in the fact that: legal cases have removed custody and control of parents from their children because they do not agree to let their minor receive hormone or surgery treatments for gender-change at such an early age—taking away the religious rights of the parents and allowing that minor to decide a life-changing, permanent event at an age they are not considered mature enough by law to buy beer, cigarettes or even an energy drink. [Is that following science and reason?] California Legislature passed Senate Bill 107 allowing minors to flee other States without parent's consent and have the parents' rights stripped away, giving "emergency jurisdiction and control" to California, allowing "gender-affirming" hormone and surgical treatments. Again, to minors deemed too immature to make decisions on far lesser issues of temporary importance, much less permanent disfiguring and changing of their bodies—as all personal rights and religious freedoms are stripped away from parents, and the welfare of that minor may be in jeopardy as they are encouraged to trust another adult to help them "run away" from their parents. We are not allowed to teach the alternate option of creationism in schools because it is not scientific, but teachers have lost their jobs because they make the biologically correct statement "that there are two genders." Trans-men—who are still completely biologically male—are given rights to share private, revealing facilities with wives and daughters, who do not agree or consent to their beliefs, all to be sensitive to the emotions of the one trans-person who does not share the biological traits of anyone in the facility. Where is the sensitivity, where are the rights protecting the very real emotional harm to the many exposed and humiliated in the process? We are being isolated and stigmatized across ethnic and racial lines, being told we are inherently good or bad because of race; being told that we should be careful not to dress, talk or behave in certain ways because we cannot relate to or appreciate another's culture—and at the same time—embracing and celebrating others who dress, act, relate to and proclaim themselves to be an entirely different gender. Some even going so far as to identify and surgically change into other ethnic identities; some even identifying with being animals. Against all reality and scientific truth, you can identify as anything you choose, and the world around you must change the laws, the rules of competitions and all conduct and speech—regardless of your own freedom to beliefs, religion or preference—to accommodate a scientifically untrue and unaccepted delusion by many others. Schools are encouraging and hiding sexual identity decisions from parents authority and knowledge, allowing books of explicit sexual nature—and even pushing for "drag queens" to perform and read in schools. Can you please tell me how this pertains to education of our youth? Other than to desensitize and introduce young minds to concepts which parents alone have right to introduce? I completely agree that more and more people are facing a very real struggle with gender dysphoria, homosexuality, and racial tensions because we are creating these struggles purposefully within our society—all under the guise of love and acceptance. But please, please stop and consider the following unavoidable truth: what is showing more love? To help a person understand and accept the beauty of who they have been created to be or tell them they should physically change everything about themselves to ever be perfect and let them irreversibly become something that will never be all they could be on either side—even at an age when they do not fully know who they are or what they will truly want in life? What is more damaging, unjust, and oppressive? To allow parents to raise their own children in their beliefs until the child is old enough to decide for themselves? Or allow the state to arbitrate their own decided beliefs upon every other person's child, against all freedoms even before the child is of a mature age to decide? What is more racially healing? To see everyone as equally created and loved and share in culture and accountability? Or to label as inherently racist, guilty, evil or uncaring because of their race, and bring back racially segregated spaces, customs and social groups in deceptive notions of creating pride and safety? Now, I have to speak to those who claim to be Christian specifically. There is no way this much change could occur this quickly, which is literally against nature, science and morals—change which is full of selfishness, anti-God sentiment, hatred, perversion, and complete anarchy—unless it was driven by a force outside of men. This is a spiritual problem, not a cultural one. Scripturally, it is a clear indication of exactly where we are in God's eyes: Romans 1:18-32. Three times in this passage the terrible increase in sin and immorality was directly attributed to a purposeful disregard for God—until He gave them over to what they desired uninhibited and unprotected. Satan's unleashed demonic influence, mixed with the dark hearts of men quickly fell to the depths of selfishness and perversion even beyond what is rational and natural. If you cannot see this happening, right his minute all around us you are completely blind to Scriptures and God. Our falling society, our falling world, is a direct judgment of God by way of turning us over to our own debased desires. We’ve gone from sexually unbound, to homosexual, to trans. Here is where every Christian needs to stand up and recognize what is about to be said: stop thinking you are showing love to the world by patronizing and agreeing with the craziness. This is especially difficult when family and close friends are involved. But we are not showing one ounce of real love or true faith in our God when we are more worried about hurt feelings or rejection than we are their hearts and souls. Didn't Jesus Himself warn: Luke 12:51-53. Leave the door open in love to every person in your life. Totally love and accept the person, unconditionally, but make your stance on loving and trusting God completely clear or they have no hope. And if they choose to walk away because of it, at least they see that your God is real and treasured enough, for you to stand by Him. Are they not standing by their beliefs above you if they walk away? We should teach our children to love and care about sex-traffickers, but should we teach them to hang with them as they practice their kidnapping and abuse? Obviously not because they would begin to be abused at best, and become just like them at worst. In this light, we see why Paul also warns us: 2 Corinthians 6:17-18. That does not mean we stop accepting and showing love to unbelieving sinners around us. Just the opposite—Jesus showed more love for them than anyone. It means we do not approve of and justify their sins, or even join them in their beliefs, just to be certain we do not offend them. We do not introduce them to Jesus by becoming the world. Look at Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in Babylon; Joseph in Egypt; Paul in Rome; 1st Century Christians—they deeply loved those around them in their fallen state, but they never compromised what they believed. I recently listened to a very educated "Christian" Theologian explain and defend his "Progressive” Christian view. Every single statement and argument started with: "Well, I think, I feel, I believe." None of his theology or faith was built on God's Word. And to him, Jesus was just a Man to be mimicked because He accepted everyone and fought for social reform. And the goal of his theology was to create Heaven here and now—a world where we could enjoy what we desire now; a world where we can be anything we want, do anything we want, and in love, Jesus and you should just accept our actions or you are unloving and wrong. This takes away the very heart of the Gospel, the very reason God even came to save mankind. Jesus was loving and kind to all people, but He was always clear as to why He was here—because we are full of sin, our hearts are dark, we need saving from our actions, and changing of our minds. That is why He came and why He paid such a high price to save us. If you stifle and avoid this, you take away all that Jesus died to bring. Jesus had many people who followed Him just to get what they wanted from Him—as much of the Progressive Movement does today. But only the true believers trusted His Ways and His Righteousness enough to forsake all and follow Him, where He led. The world cannot be saved by leaving them in their selfish, sinful condition. They are suffering and self-destructing here on earth, and they are doomed eternally from God. How are you helping them by being passive and uninvolved? They can only be saved by trusting Jesus to remove their rebellion and sin. And how do they do that until they recognize they are sinners? Romans 3:22-24. Here is the very heart of accepting Christ: we are not Baptist Christians, Homosexual Christians, Republican Christians, Conservative Christians, Progressive Christians, Black Christians, White Christians, or Trans-Christians—there is no adjective before Christian. We are Christian, or we are not. Because to become Christian is to trust His saving sacrifice and strive to be what He Says is holy and loving. Every other adjective in our life disappears—we die, and all become one in who He is. If you try to make God accept anything else you want to be in order to be a Christian—if you put any adjective before Christian—your heart has made that thing your God rather than Jesus Christ: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. Don't think that tiny submissions to demands will be enough. If you do not bend until you break; the world will not be satisfied. While we are vacationing happily, expecting God's blessings, acting like we don't have a care in the world. Satan has completely changed our world around us—laws, attitudes, hearts—the ice has slowly melted under us as we have been oblivious, and now we are about to fall into some very cold water. You are not of this world, you are a pilgrim. Take every opportunity to join with believers in worship, and to learn and be encouraged while you can. Stop withholding the only hope the world has by being too intimidated, passive and uncaring to warn them. Care more for their souls than their approval. Stop making Jesus Christ seem cheap and fake and live for Him above all others. Separate yourselves from the ways of the world in love for our God because He is our everything. Don’t run. Hold the line because the time is here, and you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
