Those of you that have seen the movie "Dead Poet's Society" are probably familiar with this phrase. The scene occurs at the end of the movie when Robin Williams character has been forced to leave his teaching position and his students, one by one, stand upon their desks and proclaim, "O Captain! My Captain!" as a recognition of what Williams character has done for them. Many, however, may not recognize the poem that the phrase comes from, Walt Whitman's poem of the same name.
