Part three of our series, The Great Tribulation, takes a look at what happens when Christ's disciples arrive in heaven. Pastor Doss discusses the judgement seat that we will stand before and what we can expect next. We compare Old Testament marriage customs with the New Testament account of the marriage of the Church and Christ to get an idea of what is to come....
One of the main events to occur just before the rapture, was the signing of a peace treaty, mediated by the antichrist himself, whether in full power, or up and coming in his career is unsure. [How ripe is our world, in its current state of affairs to fulfill that prophecy any day now?—Yet this is a 2500 year old prophecy!]
In part 2 of our Tribulation series we take a look at what many Christians refer to as "The Rapture". What can we expect when we receive the call to go home?
This study of the Rapture and the terrible time of Tribulation to follow, will focus on the events themselves, and what it will be like for the people who are living during these two events: 1) The Rapture—or the unannounced gathering of the True Church in the last days 2) The Great Tribulation—a time of unprecedented horror and judgment that will occur on the earth, following that gathering of Saints to Heaven. We spend so much time studying the theology and the predictions around these events, that we often overlook the reality of their occurrence—what living through these times will literally be like to those involved.
Are you one of those people that flip to the last page of a book before reading the first? Do you just have to know how things work out? Fortunately God has shared some insight on the end of the story, and even a few clues as to the next one.
Today Pastor Doss begins a new series in which we will look at "The Tribulation Period". There are many schools of thought about what is going to happen to us, the believers, during this time. Are we going to be here for those dark days, or are we going home before it all begins? Listen to find out what the Bible says and decide for yourself.
While reading Scriptures personally, we as Christians, get into the habit of taking in information without processing and applying it to ourselves; meaning, we read things that we obviously know reveal areas of our lives that aren't where they should be, or describe a way of life we just aren't experiencing. We simply pass that text over in our quest to, ‘have our quiet time’, either, taking no notice of our glaring differences from the text or thinking that text is for a more, Spiritually minded, mature person. If you are serious about God, if you believe this is His Word to you, never again just pass over a Scripture that doesn't show true in your life, because if you read it, and realize it is not true in your life, then you continue with your reading—you have just proven that you are not reading Scriptures in order to be obedient to God's will. At that point, why do you even need to continue reading? You've already shown that you are simply going through steps and wasting time. James 1:22-25. If you read it, and it is not true in your life…this is where you need to focus on Scriptures until it is right; this is where you need to pray and ask for God's will, and strength; this is letting God speak to you.
No, we aren't talking about the Ten Commandments....at least not as such. Have you ever felt like you weren't close to God? Or that you just weren't sure what He wanted from you? Then this is the sermon for you!
Pastor Doss draws from the New Testament authors to create a Top Ten list of things that are important to God; things that He expects His followers to be striving towards. This goes beyond the simple, pat responses. Pastor Doss breaks it down in to real life examples that make it easy to understand. No Christian lingo, just real Truth. Think you know what they are? Listen to find out!
The story of the woman who washed Jesus feet with her hair is mentioned in 3 of the Gospels (the one in John is a different setting) and in each Jesus declares that her story will be shared wherever the gospel is told. What makes this woman's actions so special? What can we learn from her? Today Pastor Doss shares her story and allows it to speak to our hearts....will YOU be a perfume maker?
